Empathy Rising: Side Hustles for Therapists in Private Practice

May 27, 2019

Is having an audience a big deal? I have a different take on this than a lot of people. Most people either say you don't have to build an audience, all you need is ads or yes you need a big audience.

Why am I a fan of building an audience, big or small? Two reasons: ONE, this gets more people into your sales funnel and if your content is compelling, higher conversion rates. Having eyeballs on your content is the first part of the funnel.

TWO, the very nature of building an audience will make you money! When people see you sharing your expert opinion they will DM you and see and they can work with you. Trust me, this happens to me all of the time.

Being visible is the #1 mechanism for making money.

If you want to launch a 1:1 coaching program, you don’t have to have an audience but you do need to be visible. To my introverts out there you may be wigging out at the idea of opening up online. In episode 20, Allison Puryear put it best when she likened visibility to childbirth. The labor of going live, networking and posting is exhausting but in the end, you get a beautiful reward. Sometimes we have to get out of our comfort zones to see the results we want.

Today I’m breaking down audience building into understandable, easy to follow steps. Let’s jump in!
